After a column on my date auction travails, I got lots of reader response. Some people called me funny, one praised me for being ballsy and then there was the reader who said, "You must be great to party with."

Um, yeah, unless being an excellent designated driver qualifies, not so much.

Writing, unlike face-to-face conversation, lets us be someone we are not. We can come across as fun and funny if we are reserved and, well, a bit keyed up at times.
