Police threaten lawyers for Tajik newspaper

DUSHANBE, Tajikistan (AP) — Lawyers acting for Tajikistan's leading independent newspaper say they have been physically threatened by a policeman.

Shukhrat Kudratov and Abdurakhmon Sharipov, who are representing Asia-Plus newspaper, said an anti-organized crime officer repeatedly told them Wednesday that he was "willing to put a bullet in their forehead."
