Menands-based Albany International Corp. has expressed little concern over the $12 million stock purchase by the Bass brothers of Fort Worth, Texas.

The Texas investors have a reputation in corporate America for being aggressive in trying to gain control of a company. The Bass brothers' investments often are coupled with top-level management changes in the acquired company.

In 1984, the Bass brothers and Roy Disney successfully fought a battle to change the management of Walt Disney Co., a battle resulting in the installation of Bass-picked Michael Eisner and Frank Wells in the top company slots.
