Fed: UN report puts govt under pressure to help fix climate

CANBERRA, Feb 20 AAP - Australia will enter world climate change talks in May under
pressure to finalise an agreement to combat global warming after a grim United Nations
forecast of a volatile climate.

A UN report out today said Australia would suffer from worsening weather, heating up
and exacerbating the effects of the El Nino weather pattern.

The UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change's report showed rainfall would decrease
in Australia as the earth warmed.
